Bruce Barnbaum Workshops
Understanding and appropriately using light and compositional elements applied to subject matter that is really important to you is the basis of expressive photography. This understanding is the central goal of my workshops. Whether your greatest interests tend toward portraiture, street photography, landscape, architecture or any other specialty, you will gain invaluable information from the workshop. To get there, the central part of all of these workshops is an in-depth review of every student’s photography, with insightful suggestions on how to improve. Students invariably find these sessions to be the most wonderful learning experience. We refer to them as idea sessions, where you get new ideas from fellow students and instructors, and you have an enormous amount of fun in the process.
All workshops are located in marvelously scenic locations, with outdoor field sessions designed to take advantage of the magnificent surroundings. Whether you shoot traditionally or digitally, whether your interest is color or black and white, the workshops will be pivotal for your photographic future. This is true if you want to improve your hobby work or if your goal is to be a professional. Instructors will present some of their own work, explaining all aspects of their work, from the cameras they use, the processes and/or apps they employ, the materials they use, and most importantly, the artistic decisions made to arrive at the final image. There are no secrets; all questions are welcomed and all are answered.
